Cabinet Descriptions:
1. Round Cornered Cabinet

Round corner cabinets, or yuanjiaogui, (literally, "round corner cabinet") have doors which are attached to the cabinet by wooden posts at the top and bottom. The round corners provide protection for the pivot holes into which these poles rest. These cabinets are also called miantiaogui,. This name bears no meaning to the form or use of the cabinet and its origin is unknown. These cabinets generally have a central stile which the doors can be locked to.

2. Square Cornered Cabinet

Square cornered cabinets, or fangjiaogui, have doors hung with metal hinges attached to the stiles. There are three different heights: three, six and nine feet. Some of these cabinets are made in two sections; the smaller section was used to store hats.
